Starting things off with a bang, I uploaded a mix for all of you! Hooray!

Enjoy!
Basically, the majority of all of this is GUILTY PLEASURES (to dance to), in case you didn’t see a theme otherwise. Almost all of these artists I consider a guilty pleasure (save for Kanye, NERD, M.I.A., and a few others). This is the same mix I made for my managers on our last day as a Limited Too family – sigh.
Onto bigger and better things, though – I filed my taxes! Cool! I owe the state of Arizona $81 – not cool! I am making $476 from the feds, though – cool! Thanks federal government; no thanks, state of Arizona.
Did I mention I saw Milk two nights ago?

Because I did. And I fell in love with it. I try to avoid becoming a “bandwagon” fan of someone, but, to be honest, my knowledge of Harvey Milk prior to hearing about this film’s release was limited, at best. After seeing the film and reading up on the late Harvey Milk, I am so unbelievably sad that I was never cued into his story sooner.
Not only was Milk one of the best films I’ve seen in the past six months; nay, it was one of the best films I’ve seen … ever. Every actor was superb, the story was impeccably smooth and fluid, and I found myself feeling engrossed into the story line, as if I was a part of their team. Milk is the kind of film that makes me want to get up and do things – get up and be part of the movement. Talking to people one by one and working to change their minds is not enough of a help. I want to be involved – I want to find a Gay Straight Alliance, a gay rights movement to lend my time and support to.
The only issue I had with the film has nothing to do with the film itself. Instead, I am increasingly confused as to why James Franco’s portrayal as Harvey Milk’s long-time partner was overlooked by the academy and other award-giving groups. He was excellent!
The About the Girl page should be updated very, very quickly, so, check it out!
